Chiliheads love good heat, but they crave good flavor because so many superhot hot sauce fall short right there. So we built a slow sweet-umami start with roasted butternut squash and field-ripened tomatoes. Then the heat starts to build in with smoked red Serranos and Carolina Reaper peppers. Finally the world’s hottest pepper - Pepper X - comes in at the end with a sticky heat that doesn’t want to let you go.
